Hello and welcome!
I am Marshall and I am glad to offer sessions in-person and online (telehealth) at the Center. My private fee is $200. I take the following insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield (from any state) and HealthPartners. I am also an Out-of-Network (OON) provider for most insurance (check with your insurance to see if you have OON benefits).
Before I further introduce myself, I have a few important questions for you:
Are you looking for a therapist to help you learn more about how your past experiences impact your life today? Do you have experienced past traumatic experiences that are bothering you, such as childhood trauma and relational trauma, among others? Are you looking for strategies to deal with loved ones who show narcissistic traits? Are you grieving any personal loss or stress in your life? Or are you a man facing some personal questions and would like to talk to someone about it, individually or in a group? If you are going through any of these common life challenges, know that you are not alone, and that I can help!
I am proudly Iowa-born, raised and trained!
I was born in Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa, and I started my Schema Therapy training in California. My belief is that “mindfulness and compassionate living are not just skills I teach and use with my clients, but also personal practices that I believe can better the lives of all those around us”. As an individual therapist, I specialize in helping clients going through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, emotional regulation issues, and narcissism.
Are you looking for Schema or EMDR Therapy?
My clinical expertise includes Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). These modalities are very effective in dealing with past trauma, emotional regulation, and learning about our inner self. I will soon be fully certified in both these methodologies.
My clinical approach is patient centered, trauma informed, and strength and mindfulness based. I enjoy supporting clients to learn more about themselves and develop strategies to live a more self-aware and fulfilling life. I believe everyone, including myself, can benefit from mindfulness, which is a tool that enhances our inner power.
Are you a man looking for counseling?
An important part of my work refers to man’s issues. The role of men in society has changed in the last decades. This has led to men struggling with their varying expectations at work and at home. Anxiety and depression may result if men feel they are not good providers, good employees, good husbands and lovers, good parents, and else. Therapy can be an opportunity to discuss these issues and make decisions about balancing all these expectations. Read more about men’s counseling here.
Feel free to schedule an appointment HERE. I look forward to working with you.
