Coping with life during the continuing pandemic has increased everyone’s anxiety and loneliness. Our core needs for a safe and secure relationship with others are obstructed, and we have more difficulties with our own sense of competency and autonomy, i.e. performing life skills to support ourselves and our families and making our own choices while remaining safe.

Also, play and spontaneity are inhibited in the pandemic, which may leave us either over-vigilant and obsessive or shutdown and detached. We may feel we have poor control over our limits and boundaries in life and difficulty addressing our human needs.

These are pandemic issues I see a lot in my clients these days. For that reason, I will be presenting a free webinar about simple ways to feel better about ourselves during this continuing pandemic. In this webinar, we will:

  • Explore our core emotional needs and learn some strategies to get these needs met.
  • Discuss common coping problems people have during these trying times, such as obsessing and binging on news and social media; growing anger over debates with no resolve; detaching and self-soothing through alcohol, sex, gambling or other mind-numbing distractions. These ways of coping, though understandable, prevent us from properly addressing our personal and relational needs.
  • Practice some meditations and visualizations to get us in tune with our values and inner strengths, and apply compassion techniques for self-care to get the inner balance we need.
  • And, ultimately, decrease our anxiety and have a deeper sense of control of our lives.

If you are one of the many people that are tired of these pandemic times, feel free to join this webinar. You don’t have to feel alone and down during these uncertain times. We are all on the same boat together. I look forward to meeting you.
