This webinar was led by Caitlin Shea, T-LMFT, Therapist Intern, and a previous Sexual Health Nurse. She has a baby girl and knows she will be asked awkward sex questions soon!

Teenagers go through many changes and at the same time may be come quieter about their questions. Their peers mean a lot to them, but parents and caregivers are the ones who will have their best interest in mind. So learn how to be prepared to talk to your teen when they have questions!

Though awkward, sex education is a parent’s job too. By connecting with your teen early and often, you can set the stage for a lifetime of healthy sexuality and communication.

Caitlin Shea has presented previously about “How to talk to your Kids about Sex”. Now it will be about “How to talk to Teens about Sex”. They may be exploding with questions and hormones. Giving them the space to safely and kindly discuss the topic will enhance your parent relationship as well.

Your guidance as a parent or caregiver will be key to helping your teen to better understand the changes in their body and the questions in their mind. You can make a different in helping your teen become a sexually responsible adult. Learn more about the topic before you talk to them; do not pass old ideas because you may lose credibility with them. Even if your teen doesn’t seem interested in what you have to say about sex, say it anyway. They will be probably listening anyway. Just be kind and non-judgemental.

This webinar was presented on Wed, June 10th, 2026, 6-7 pm CST.
